Day 1: Hoi An – Kham Duc
Starting from your hotel in Hoi An, early you will drive out of Hoi An into the countryside on your 6 hour journey toward the gold town of Kham Duc on the HCM Trail.
You will ride past many lush green rice paddies and farm areas and depending on the weather, will have the opportunity to take a swim and cool off in a stream in the rainforest.
Next you will visit one the areas Pineapple plantations and enjoy sampling some the freshly picked fruit before continuing your ride along the famous Ho Chi Minh trail.
Arriving to Kham Duc you will check into a simple but clean hotel and have time to relax and meet some of the locals before dinner.
Overnight in Kham Duc.
Day 2: Kham Duc – Kon Tum
After enjoying your breakfast and saying goodbye, you will set off on your 150Km ride to Kon Tum which will be your next overnight stop.
Approximately one hour south of kham Duc, you will stop at a lovely waterfall where you can take a break and buy a drink from the nearby café.
You will travel through the Lo Xo pass located on the Kon Tum Plateau nearby the Ngoc Linh National park. The area is well known to bird watchers and is home to the rare Black-crowned Barwing which was only discovered in 1996.
Along the way you visit coffee and rubber plantations and stop for a visit with the Ka Tu Hill Tribe which one of the ethnic groups living in the area.
On arriving to Kon Tum you will be taken for a short tour of the town and cross a 290m long suspension bridge to visit Konktu village which is home to the Bahnar people.
Overnight in Kon Tum
Day 3: Kon Tum – Buon Ma Thuot.
The journey to Buon Ma Thuot is approximately 230Kms and will take through some very interesting and beautiful countryside.
Firstly you will pass by the Bien Ho Tea plantation and then onto the spectacular Sea Lake which was formed in an ancient Volcanic crater.
The lake is surrounded by mountains and stays full all year round with the crystal clear waters mirroring the magnificent nearby scenery and clouds. It is a perfect place to stop and enjoy nature’s beauty and a great place to take some very memorable photos.
You will also stop to visit a pepper farm and if time permitting, you may stop at the Trung Nguyen coffee museum.
Arrive to Buon Ma Thuot and check into your hotel
Overnight in Buon Ma Thuot.
Day 4: Buon Ma Thuot – Lak Lake
Lak Lake is only approximately 60Kms from Buon Ma Thuot but there is much to see there and well worth stopping for the day.
After taking the short ride, you visit the wonderful Draysap (smoking) and Gia Long (Vietnamese King) waterfalls located in the rain forest and then travel to the largest natural lake in the central highlands.
Once there you will have the opportunity to experience the traditions, culture and customs of the M’Nong peoples and be amazed at their wonderful stilt houses and the craftsmanship of their dugout canoes. You will also learn about their history with elephants and have the opportunity to find out more about their daily life.
After your busy day, you will have the choice of sleeping in a Traditional style long house, a modern long house or a hotel.
Overnight at Lak Lake.
Day 5: Lak Lake – Da Lat
Your last day will enjoy some more of the wonderful mountain scenery while ride the final 150Kms to Da Lat.
On the way you will stop to visit some spectacular waterfalls, visit a silk worm farm, see some more elephants and take a walk through a lovely flower garden that is a favourite with local Honeymooning couples.
Arrive to Da Lat and unfortunately it will be time to say goodbye to your driver.
